Call for papers: Open Living Lab Days Special Issue on Health Informatics Journal

Special issue of Health Informatics Journal calls for papers from Open Living Lab Days 2019 contributors
A Living Lab is an innovation intermediary, which orchestrates an ecosystem of actors in a specific region. Approaches associated with Open Living Labs are inherently linked with the Quadruple Helix Engagement in which Governments, Businesses, Academia, and Citizens interact and co-create. In recent years, it has become obvious that this co-creation is a key component of citizen-driven innovation. Apart from turning innovation into a buzzword though, there is always the underlying fear of losing the required quality especially when it comes to upscaling and transferring innovation by connecting innovation pockets or jumping between borders. Numerous societal challenges and citizens’ interests are now affected by such developments. The goal of this special issue is to publish the latest advances on the research and application articles from contributors to the recent Open Living Lab Days 2019 Conference – OLLD 2019 (https://openlivinglabdays.com/) – held in Thessaloniki, Greece. Τhe journal is Open Access but care will be taken to provide waivers for the papers published in this special issue.
The special issue encourages all types of contributors to OLLD2019 to submit papers with academic and research or innovation content. Although the main interest of the issue is along Health and Well-Being, it is to be noted that submissions are welcome from other domains (e.g. Green, Energy and Mobility, Smart Cities & Regions, Urban and Rural Living Labs, Social Innovation and Inclusion, Artificial Intelligence and Disruptive Technologies, Culture and Education, EU and Policy and many others), provided that the theoretical and/or methodological challenges, as well as, the innovation and co-creation processes addressed are linked to health and/or well-being. Authors should submit through the journal’s web page (https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/hij) by choosing the Open Living Lab Days Special Issue upon the submission process.
